Health talks by leading medical specialists in the country, free health checks, blood donation drive, organ donation pledging, exciting displays of the latest health products and services, games, quizzes, lucky draws, goodie bags – all these and more will be available at the Health Education & Heath Awareness Exhibition (HEHA) on 11-12 August 2012!
Held for the second time at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, this health event of choice will showcase health-related products and services that will give you and your family a better quality of life in today’s fast-paced world.
The emphasis of the event will be on non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, heart attacks, cancer and others, which have reached alarming levels in a country blessed with good weather, abundant natural herbs, fruits and vegetables and a stable political climate.
Despite the apparent peace and tranquillity, increasing numbers of Malaysians are suffering from mental conditions such as depression, stress and suicidal tendencies. Even with longer lifespans, not many people can enjoy a graceful transition into their golden years if they become beleaguered by poor health, loneliness or lack of social support.
The main aim of the HEHA is to create a healthy, happy society that practices preventive health measures such as remaining physically active, enjoying a good work-life balance and basically at peace with its body, mind and soul.
Community involvement is an important aspect of healthy living, as modern people find themselves increasingly isolated now that technology has taken over communication. Meet and join various NGOs at HEHA if you would like to contribute your time and energy for the greater good of mankind.
CPR demonstrations will also be taught en-masse for people who are keen to know what to do in the event of an emergency.
The event is organised by the Malaysian Medical Association (Wilayah branch) and the Ministry of Health and will be officially launched by the Minister of Health. Urban Health is the official media partner for this event for the second consecutive year.
