Overnight Oats

These Recipes Will Kickoff Your Craving for a Healthy Breakfast!

Oatmeal was once a popular choice for a healthy breakfast thanks to its vast array of health benefits but for the longest time it fell out of favour. Interestingly enough, oats have made a sudden, fantastic comeback as a healthy breakfast favourite thanks to a new trend known as Overnight Oats. This is easy to whip up, works as a great pick-up-and-go and the best part is, it allows you to explore your culinary creativity! There are really no boundaries when it comes to the ingredients you can add to your Overnight Oats and we’re about to prove that to you right now. Here are 4 of Urban Health’s favourite overnight oats recipes!

Basic cranberries

Basic Cranberry


1/3 cup                 Rolled Oats

3 tbsp                    Plain yoghurt (Sugar free)

2 tbsp                    Raspberry yoghurt drink

2 tsp                      Low sugar strawberry jam

2 tsp                      Dried organic cranberries

1 tsp                      Chia seeds

2 tsp                      Grated coconut


  1. In a bowl, evenly mix rolled oats, yoghurt and yoghurt drink.
  2. Then add chia seeds and mix well.
  3. Pour a portion of oats mixture into a glass jar followed by a layer of strawberry jam.
  4. Then, add another potion of oats and layer with dried cranberries.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 and top it up with grated coconut.
  6. Close jar tightly and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Take it out of the fridge the next morning and enjoy!




1/4 cup                 Rolled oats

1/3 cup                 Almond milk

1 tsp                      Flax seed

½ tsp                     Ground cinnamon

½ tsp                     Ginger

1 tsp                      Molasses

½ tsp                     Vanila extract



  1. In a bowl, mix all ingredients well.
  2. Pour into a jar and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Enjoy it straight out of the fridge the next morning!

Apple Cinnamon

Apple Cinnamon


¼ cup                    Rolled oats

2 tbsp                    Skim milk

1/3 cup                 Plain yoghurt

1 tsp                      Chia seeds

¼ tsp                     Ground nutmed

½                             Green or red apple, diced

½ tsp                     Cinnamon

1 tsp                      Molasses

½ tsp                     Lemon juice

2 tsp                      Cranberries



  1. In a bowl, mix apple, molasses and cinnamon.
  2. Then, drizzle with lemon juice and put aside.
  3. In another bowl, mix rolled oats, skim milk, chia seeds and plain yogurt
  4. Then, combine oats and apple and pour into a jar.
  5. Top with cranberries.
  6. Refrigerate overnight and enjoy in the morning!

Orange Spice

Cranberry – Orange Spice


1/2 cup                 Rolled oats

4 tbsp                    Orange juice

1/3 cup                 Low-fat Greek yoghurt

4 tsp                      Cranberries

1 tsp                      Ground cinnamon

1 tsp                      Ground ginger



  1. In a bowl, mix ingredients together.
  2. Then, pour mixture into a jar
  3. Refrigerate overnight and enjoy it the next morning!
